Garrett,
You know me, and you know when I give my presentations at the WGDForum, I sound like I’m against flash. That’s just not the case. I enjoy a well made flash site. With that, I’ll give you my honest opinion…
I like the site overall. It’s very clean, simple, and well made. Your contact information is up at the top which is great.
I really like the scroll bar on the right side… I have never seen anything like that before, and I really like that a lot!
Just so you know, I visited the site with Internet Explorer 7 and also with Firefox. The site showed up the same way in both of them. If I were looking to do business with you, (regardless of my opinion of IE) I would question the last line at the bottom of your site (This site is not viewable with Internet Explorer) and here is why:
Understand that I’m thinking like a customer and taking my own opinions out of the equation. As a customer that would like a website built, I don’t care what browser they are using, whether it’s IE or FF or Opera or whatever, it doesn’t matter to me. I just want to make money, and a website is an investment, so as long as it is providing a service for my customers (making it convenient for them to shop or find out information, answering frequently asked questions, etc) then it’s making me money. If you tell the visitors of my site that they have to have this browser or that browser because my site isn’t viewable by the browser that I’m using, then I’m already very close to losing my customer (most people will not go thru the trouble of downloading another browser just to see your website).
You see, it doesn’t matter if your pro IE or against IE, the fact is there are still a lot of people out there using IE, and until that fact changes, even if the website doesn’t look perfect in IE, it should still be usable in IE.
Now, other than that last sentence at the bottom of your page, I think over all you did GRRRREAT! (that’s how we say that in Battle Creek! J |
