If you are in need of a free program that can convert video files and rip DVDs check out Handbrake. www.handbrake.fr One great use for it is if you have any issues with MP4 files you have downloaded from Youtube, then you can convert them with Handbrake and they will work.

If you have a Mac and download the VLC video player you will also get the libraries to be able to access encrypted DVDs. If you are using Windows I would recommend checking out http://www.slysoft.com/ for their AnyDVD product. AnyDVD is not free, but it works well.
