3d on the Web and it's applications
3D on the web is becoming more and more common. It is also becomming easier to do. Through flash and other programs one can easily implement 3d into the Web - http://www.indakind.com/id09/ (please forgive loading time and jerkyness. this if just a proof of concept.

Re: 3d on the Web and it's applications

I checked out the link you provided for the example ... pretty cool. Is that made in Flash or some other program? Can you use that for interactive website navigation? In other words can you take a 3d image like that and then create hotspots that would indicate website areas or can link to javascript popups that provide further info on a websites offerings?

That would be great for a slightly different and interactive display of business environment and detaled offering .. or a product manufactured and then when rotating around it hotspots would provide the marketing info on it's design or use.

I look forward to more on that along with the creation of a forum specific to 3d or video applications and Q&A

Re: 3d on the Web and it's applications

The prototype uses Flash for the interaction and Flash Video for the transitions. I am working on fixing the preloaders so the transition animations load correctly. it works like a dream localy but not too well over the internet yet. I pretty mutch specialize in 3D content on the web. evrything from the old-school VRML/X3D to new technologies like Acrobat 8 and XAML/BAML. and I would be happy to answer any questions or even help designers figure things out in 3D web.

Thank You,

Jon West.
